Excellent link, Sir.

This is very good - but it is quite old - I have read it before quite a long time ago - not on the website, but can't remember where.
I believe the reference to CY worshipping perch in his new book is a reference to when he was writing 'How to fish'

Looking again at MB's website it seems to indicate this is recent - if it is then the bit about the green wellie on the bamboo cane stcking out of the hedge has been identically told by someone else before..... and so to the bit about the slugs and worms coated in breadcrumbs.

I thought the same when i read this bit

"So today I had not only the pleasure of seeing his new book ‘How to Fish’ but also to relive with him that September day on the Upper Stour which proved to be the inspiration for this offering. In Chris’ own words it was ‘a conversation with the river in autumn’,"

A good choice, in my opinion the best of the lot.

Its definitely the best of his more 'recent' books but there is no way I would place it above the Secret Carp, Four Seasons, Casting at the Sun or the Deepening Pool

His books do seem to be thinner as time goes by (though haven't checked the page numbers). I suppose there is a limit to what one can say about fishing. But I've not read any of the most recent.
