I bought these off e.bay.......£3.99 for the 4 packets,I think they are a bargain and thought I would let you know,I could let you know who the seller is ,as long as I am not breaking any rules

I thought only fairy liquid bottles tops are allowed or a penny on the spool.

Maybe a daft question, what is an Optonic ? Something to do with upside down bottles of Scotch etc, ?

Well I think that they are classic. Not quite traditional but an interesting piece of kit I've never seen before and certainly an early attempt at stopping the rats from eating your bobbins.

I notice that the packet says that the weight can be adjusted to suite the conditions. I'm assuming you simply popped a split shot into the halves prior to closing it. That may be an improvement on my putting a piece of plasticine inside the bottom bit of Fairy Liquid bottle top. I never thought of adding some split shot to the mix. D'oh!
