New Collector
Hi folks,
I have just recently started collecting, and refurbing, Intrepid reels.
As most of us probably did, I had a Black Prince when I was just starting out,,,,I thought I was the bee's knees, my first Brand New reel.
I started collecting about 3 months ago and this is my lot so far. I am waiting on the postie coming though, with an Intrepid, 2 super twins, an Extra, a Supreme, a Deluxe and a Monarch 66.

A splendid assemblage Pinkster, Sir.

Re: New Collector
Hi Pinkster
The first new reel that I ever had (around 1960 I guess) was a golden Monarch. I then used my paper round money to upgrade to the Regent and then the Supreme which I thought was a great reel. I still have all those reels plus a Seastreak and somewhere a Surfcast. Although I'm now a keen collector of Hardy casting & trotting reels, Dingleys and Wallace Watsons I still have a very high regard for Morritts. They were in the right time and place to supply cheap but quality tackle to us babyboomers and I'm sure that having this stuff available hooked lots of us into fishing in our teens.
More power to you in preserving Intrepid reels.

The Deluxe is restored, my first attempt.
I have also restored an Elite, just can't find the photos.

Re: New Collector
Brilliant collection and in such a short space of time, well done you. I started out with a very basic Intrepid in the early sixties, they will always have a place near my heart. The names Intrepid and Efgeeco bring back visions of my younger days. Thanks for showing them on here.

Thanks guys, I really like the look and feeling of all the Intrepid reels, As has been said, they bring back memories of a time gone by.......more than any £1000 modern Japanese thing!
