Please help me name this rod.
A couple of weeks ago I bought this rod at auction.
It is 10’ 6”, 3-piece. All three sections appear to be intact.
The butt is whole cane and very slim, about 12mm just above the handle. The middle section is whole cane spliced into whole cane. The tip is 18” of whole cane with 24” of solid wood, probably greenheart, spliced into the cane.
The ferrules seem like good quality, with reinforcing collars. The rod is very straight when assembled.
It carries the description ‘Ogden Smiths London SW on the alloy butt cap.
It arrived without rings, so I am equipping it with a set of rather nice black High Bells rings - thank you Paul F! - intending to use it for roach fishing.
There is no name written on the cane. I would like to put a name to it, so can anyone please help?
I would also be interested to know the appropriate age of the rod. I’m a little surprised to that it doesn’t have brass furniture to go with the greenheart tip?
Thank you.

Hi Banksy,
The name Ogden took my mind to the Small Faces' record, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. There was a character on that record (voiced by none other than Stanley Unwin) called Happiness Stan, so perhaps that would do it? Otherwise there was a tune on that record about a working girl from the docks by the name of Rene (Ree-nee), but that's probably pushing it a bit!!

I’m not looking for a nickname!
Sorry, to clarify, I’m trying to find out what name the rod was given by Ogden Smiths.
