Hi all,
I am considering trying the Warwickshire Avon for this autumn's and winter barbel and chub campaign but know very little about available stretches and clubs etc. I live near Oxford so areas within an hour's drive from home would be ideal. There seems to be some very popular day ticket stretches but I am never keen on crowded venues so any advice would be great.
Regards Barbus

I fish the non navigable part above Stratford.
There are lovely wild stretches which are club waters. No day tickets up that far though.
PM me if you want more details.

Stratford angling club have stretches of the Avon west of the town, plus a cracking stretch of water to the south (Hampton Lucy brook) which is intimate, overgrown, quiet and holds some big chub.
Day tickets are available on some stretches, or a season ticket is £40.
