A lovely fish Richard, like you I had never caught one of the bigger Perch, but within the last two years I caught a P.B Perch of 2lb 10ozs!!

An ounce over my pb too Rich. Persistence along with instinct makes it an outstanding catch. Using a bicycle pump to make it look bigger though, is questionable

I would stay in "smug mode" for at least a month if I caught that great perch, well done.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
