About 10 years ago I purchased the above rod, it has a spare tip, agate butt and tip ring, rings whipped in gold/black jasper with no intermediates, copper finish sliding band and end cap. In white ink its numbered either 7169 or 9169, end cap is stamped 'Millwards' made in England. Its an extremely light rod and would be out gunned by anything I guess over the 1lb mark. Any info greatly appreciated.

Many thanks Deaf Cat, my rod exactly, suitable for a lady !!! its had very little use indeed judging by the cork, all sections exactly the same length and no sets, I must be brave enough to try it out this summer and feel it flex.

The rod is also in my 1953 catalogue. The text implies that it was a relatively new rod at that time. My 1953 Flycraft has a serial number of 3655 and my Floatcraft (c1963) is numbered 8370. Assuming the serial numbers are just that (is there a definitive chronology of Milwards serial numbers?) then a 7000 number gives early 1960s and a 9000 number gives mid 60s.
