When Woolies Ruled

Post by Moley »

Fat Bloke can read, despite scurrilous rumours to the contrary, so was delighted to find this example of Woolworths literature in a local bookshop.

He originally had a copy but it disappeared in the mists of time, now replaced.

Wonderful.

What a find! You can “catch” up on your reading now!
Oh to be at my “Happy Place” where nothing matters but the being there.

A great find Moley - I don't have a copy unfortunately. Yet another little treasure to look out for on my frequent ferreting forays!

What I do have now though, is one of those vintage stripey folding garden chairs, just like the one depicted on the front cover!

The de rigueur bankside seating of my youth.

Those chairs are still great for short sessions. Light as a feather and comfy enough for an hour or two.
My latest "lightweight chair " has definitely got much heavier since last year.

I fell through one of those many years ago, the material ripped and I fell through... ended up with my knees under my chin... my two buddies nigh on pee'd themselves laughing... even I ended up giggling insanely... took both my mates to get me out of the frame...
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

:Hahaha: The same thing happened to my brother, his is probably still in the river tees somewhere. He is still very wary about any folding chair and that must have been 55 years ago.
