Late starter

Post by Pond.Olive »

Hello forum members, I joined up in spring this year but have only just started to post. I have been an angler for er…humph…a long long time, though lately have been obsessed by the silver tourist using unmentionable equipment. I have been interested in split cane rods for many years and have established a modest collection of them sourced mainly from antique fairs and car boots. Restoration of those rods needing it, has been carried out by an old friend whose label is Heritage Rods of Kings Lynn. Unfortunately, he has retired so some of my collection still await attention by a restorer, who is unlikely to be me.

Through my interest in spey casting has eclipsed my urge for coarse fishing, the latter is re surfacing these days, and my desire to own rods of built cane has not diminished. Indeed, it has become enhanced lately by the mouth watering stuff that has become available on a well known auction site, to the detriment of my financial reserves. Unfortunately, I have not yet found a new nearby restorer of the objects of my angling desires. I am placed in The Fens which enjoys a plethora of angling opportunities but not of repair men!
I look forward to reading up the forum posts of yesteryear and of what you may post in the future.
Tight lines,
Richard

Better a late starter than an early finisher.

Is there ever a right or apt time to do anything? I always believe the time is of the essence when all things align. Enjoy this marvellous forum, it can be inspirational and most definitely rewarding.
