Allcocks Leviathan/ Commodore?

Post by Mr B »

I wasn't quit sure were to post this?
Was there a post section for Traditional Sea Fishing? I couldn't see it on the board index?
Anyway, I hope its ok here.
I have had this reel a few years now and reading a post this morning on the forum reminded me of it.
Its a big heavy duty sea fishing reel.
I think its The Leviathan" but I am not 100% sure because its looks very very similar to the Commodore.
The only difference I can see is that my one has the "Torpedo handle"
My reel is missing the line guard that I would like to get sometime.
I wondered if any of you Allcocks aficionados would know for sure witch model it is and the years they were made? i

I intend to match it up to one of my old boat rods and give it a go sometime.

Thank you

Mr B

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

As you suspected. The more complex reel is the Leviathan. The other is the Commodore.
