OXO Tin for tackle bits
Snape's oxo tin inspired me to get one and I found one on the ebays. Not sure how old it is but will get lots of use and hopefully get that more worn look
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

That one looks big enough for a fine cake Loop. I reckon they are the perfect all-round container. Mine had an outing on the canal recently....

I have one too and very nice they are. I lined mine with green sticky back felt, it's supprising how it stops the rattle of Arlesey bombs and scissors etc rolling around in it.

Re: OXO Tin for tackle bits
I think the John Bull one dates from the 1980s, Loop - as you say, always loads of OXO tins of various periods for sale on eBay. OXO as a company seems to have little interest in recording its own history and trying to date some of the many tin designs must be a nightmare for collectors!Loop Erimder wrote:Snape's oxo tin inspired me to get one and I found one on the ebays. Indeed Nobby, some members use the shop......bonkers, the lot of 'em. My kind of people. Apparently, one has to catch a gudgeon in the presence of an existing member to join. One member tells me he had a rather large carp from the Grand Union and was approached by a 'weekly' for photos. He claims to have insisted that they instead print his pb gudgeon. A bemused angling hack politely declined the offer.Nobby wrote:Was it by jingo?
