The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Very interesting, its fascinating to realise that Walker himself didnt really make that many rods but others carried out much of the work themselves.
I know several anglers that have mk 4s but it looks impossible for them to say that Walker himself actually made it .

Kevin Clifford and I discussed this some years ago and I agree with him that he doubts that Dick actually made '20' Mark IV's. Ten perhaps may be nearer the number.

Thank you Mike. :thumb:

It was a Xmas Piscatorial Supper at Dick’s mother’s house on 16th December 1965.

Left to right - Fred Buller, Dick, Mrs EM Walker, Fred J Taylor, Ken Sutton, Maurice Wiggin, Leslie Moncrieff, Jack Thorndike and lady not for disclosure.

Phil Jenner took the picture.
