Fishing For Beginners by Maurice Wiggin

Fishing For Beginners by Maurice Wiggin.

This is another book I like reading ever so often, it's only 4" x 7" first published in 1953.

I quite like this passage from chapter 1, Fishing is Fun.

It is only fair to warn you right at the start that if fishing really does take hold of you, you will be in all sorts of trouble. You will find yourself thinking about fishing when you ought, by rights, to be thinking about quite different things, for instance when you are a boy, such things like algebra or irregular verbs.

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).
