New Tench rod

Post by Bumble »

Image

For a long time now I have tried various cane rods when fishing for Tench in the margins but have never been totally happy, to heavy, to floppy or to light so just reciently I purchased a Roach perfection from AJ Davis. Andrew had described the action as sublime but never did I expect it to be as good as it turned out.
Today was the first chance to give it a dangle and I ended up with 4 Tench in 4 hours the largest was just over 8lbs.
New rods are expensive but when you see the quality and expertise that goes into making them from craftsmen like Andrew it really is worth it and no he did not pay me for this advert.

Fantastic Bumble.

I do beleive your rod is the same one Andrew sent me some pictures of and which I replied with a comment of "thats going on my to get list", looks like I was right. :)

was a good day for more than 1 reason had 2 guys fishing opposite me bivvied up and been biteless for 12 hours after the third tench they came around to see what bait I was using. I told them two were on prawns and 1 on worm. They then asked me who made the prawn boiles they were shocked when I showed them Tesco economy prawns and my red worms from the local pig farmers dung heap.
What comes around goes around.

I'm surprised they didn't ask you who made that odd coloured carbon rod :chuckle:

We had glorious weather yesterday afternoon as well, but I was comitted to cooking a 'Sunday style' roast chicken for my wife. She caught me looking out at the weather many times........

This morning it is, of course, persisting down again. Over 5 inches here in the last two weeks :-(
