As a I write this there is a Spitfire flying around over my house. To some people £500 for a Barder item is money well worth spending and to them probably not a lot of money at the end of the day. Now this Spitifre is burning about £500 worth of fuel an hour, if not more, so it's all relative. An item of fishing tackle is worth what the highest bidder will pay for it.

Now if you buy a new Barder rod at £1,700, it's resale value right now is about £1,000 – £1,300. When he stops building, then well see the prices go up and up and we might start seeing £3,000 rods being sold rather more frequently than we do now.

Ha ! what a fantastic marketing ploy for Mr. Barder.....get your last hand made rods here, when these 20 have gone.....no more EVER !

I was reminded as I read these last few posts that EB has indeed, apparently, said that he isn't going to build any more landing net handles.
