Floatcaster anyone?

Post by Parabolic »

In the interests of Chevin's quest for another rod I've removed this post.

It's a tricky one this.......this forum has always accepted that a member may post a link to an on-going auction.

On another forum, which I administrate, we decided that, on balance, we wouldn't post such links. The thinking being that although we might help a member find something he's been after...we were just as likely to push the price up for another member who had already spotted it and was hoping for a bargain.

In truth, I suspect that rod already had 50 or 60 watchers anyway and the days of bargain Floatcasters are long behind us....though one did go for just £40 odd the other day......

Absolutely Nobby, I wish that people wouldn't post links etc to ebay, it only pushes up prices.....:

Ooops... my reply to the thread was not really meant with any malice (I have sent a pm to Parabolic to say sorry if it appeared that way)... But I do tend to agree, I dont post links to auctions for the very reason that I may mess it up for others... Its not just members who can view these pages.

I totally agree with Nobby on this it's so difficult with this subject. I have helped a number of members find the rod they are looking for and I have been sent links to look at however when I have viewed them I am left thinking this is a load of Tat but it might me another member selling as you can never be sure.
I never post a link as I would fear it came as a recommendation and if it went wrong, as it has with me, I would not sleep at night.
Chevin not sure you needed to apologise it was all done in good faith.
