From their first meeting in 1956, they exchanged letters and became great friends until Richard Walker’s death in 1985. Peter kept all his letters from Walker, and in the 1980s put them together with a running commentary to form this book. Peter said that he intended this book to be ‘a personal tribute to Dick’
