Harcork floats...

Post by BarbelBonce »

...again and for possibly the last time, from me anyway! If the experts can't find anything out.....

http://www.purepiscator.com/forum/defau ... ts&m=11657

There has been an amount of to-ing and fro-ing on various boards, including this one, PP and The Path about any history out there about Harcork floats.
I heard that Jeff Della Mura was to appear on Keith Arthur's programme on Sunday so I wrote to him asking if he would ask Jeff about Harcork. (I had been in touch with him in July '11 and he very kindly made some enquiries on our behalf and blanked, like the rest of us!)
ASTONISHING: JDM has been able to find out the square root of fanny adams about them, other than he thinks they were around from '48/'49.....posssibly. He's spent two years trying to find out anything. So he has offered a REWARD in his book to try to winkle-out some knowledge.
Have a listen to:

from about minute 08.45 on the slider down at the bottom. Straight from the horse's mouth.

Many thanks, Isis, for the pointer in the direction of that page of John's.
I hadn't seen it although I am familiar ith the site; its another piece of information helping the attempt to fathom-out the Harcork mystery.
I wonder if Superfine were not just the wholesalers but also the manufacturers? Many manufacturers will not sell direct to the end-user, only to retailers.
Who here knows if Superfine were manufacturers?
Mmmmmmmmmm.
