Greetings from the TFF! Looking forward to hearing about your grayling fishing exploits.
What do they know of fishing who know only one fish and one way to fish for him?

I look forward to being able to tell you but the river water needs to go back in the river from the fields first!Coral Maestro wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 7:00 am Greetings from the TFF! Looking forward to hearing about your grayling fishing exploits.

I can sympathise with that! My favourite local reservoir here in France is 2m higher than usual and it's not possible to bank fish or launch a boat. We've had a week of continuous rain but it's forecast to improve from tomorrow.ericsbeetle wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 8:26 amI look forward to being able to tell you but the river water needs to go back in the river from the fields first!Coral Maestro wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 7:00 am Greetings from the TFF! Welcome from a local. I have a nice stretch of the Rye at the bottom of my garden....well, it's halfway up the garden at the moment. The Hull water is on the opposite bank.
Eric's Beetle.. a great fly! I have been tying it since I read Eric Horsfall Turner's book many years ago.

I fish at Nunnington where the old railway bridge is , you live in a lovely part of the world. I am over towards the coast , I agree about the fly I always have some in my box. I have some Erics Beetle tied by the man himself. Sadly they are looking a bit ragged now . They were given to me by a relative who was a friend of the family . I am told I met him once when I was a lad but cant remember ,
