Nicely done Paul, may you have many years of enjoyment using the rod.
BTW, did you use a CP on the thread or straight varnish?

No varnish straight on, I would only use preserver on jasper silks.Pentonhook wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2017 6:05 pm Nicely done Paul, may you have many years of enjoyment using the rod.

The piper silks take the varnish very well

Splendid work, Sir.

Reminds me of my Chapman Beane.

A fine job Paul, it will look great with your Hardy Wallis pin?

That's a beauty - well done indeed. Now where do you plan to give it an outing?

Keith, It is a very light action float rod, so I will give it a run out on my local river Tone roach, although I cannot guarantee catching a chub or two, I will just take care, it matches up well with my 3 1/2"Hardy Wallis Avon reelPershoreHarrier wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2017 2:18 pm That's a beauty - well done indeed. Re: Rare Hardy rod fully restored
Hello Paul , I am hoping that you could post some pictures of this rod again as the originals no longer display . I am also curious as to the use of these ' special upright rings' ,were they intended to guide the line whilst least disturbing the action of the rod , or as an economy measure or.... .I find it hard to believe that economy measures would be considered on such a prestigious rod . Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Rob.
