Rather wet on the Gt Ouse
After entering the Gt Ouse for this barbel I think I may need to buy some waders. How far do we chance it to land a decent fish? Luckily it wasn't that deep at all as it snagged me to a large nearside raft. Someone was with me who went back to their vehicle and got some rope which he put around my shoulders, otherwise I wouldn't of go in that's for sure.

That is a lovely fish and worth getting wet for!

Lovely fish, well done

I know it’s a good few months later but....
Great fish and a nice set up.
What rod were you using?
Reading your post reminded me that my son has my waders and I’m going fishing next week.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

Nice fish Chevin. Take care, the Great Ouse at Barford is 11ft deep off the edge.

Thanks Mr B, that rod was made as a prototype. Good chub and barbel rod.
