Is this somebody famous?
Some time ago I picked up a photographic plate of an old angler. I thought I'd take a punt on it hoping it was a picture of someone famous.
Up to now I've not put in any effort into trying to identify him. I was wondering if any TFF member could identify him. I'm aware that he looks like quite a few of the anglers of the past but a definite identification would be appreciated.

At a guess, possibly BB. A MrDW Pritchard! He's a famous angling writer.

He has a look similar to BB but looking at the picture, I'd say it is earlier in the century, say Pre 1940.

Arthur Ransome, possibly?
The dates may fit better with the type of photo but still a bit of a stretch on dates, compared to the age of the angler.

My second guess would be LA Parker or this chap known as the Silver Doctor. I will check my books tonight to be sure! No, not either of these!

It is a good reminder of the days when anglers dressed "up" for a day by the water. This fellow makes Mr Crabtree look something of a scruff.
The coiled line travels from the reel, it brings up at last, the hook goes home, and then begins the test of skill. "BB"
