Hi all. Newbie here from Kent.
Hi. Just wanted to say a quick hello.
I'm a 59 your old kid living a few miles outside Canterbury. Hoping to retire or Semi-Retired in the next few months.. 60 in March.
Recently decided to get out and do some real fishing armed with an old cane rod and some traditional tackle and enjoy a few days at the rivers edge or a nice local lake.
Will be joining the local Canterbury angling club in the next couple of weeks. Got my new fishing licence and some new mono line.
Things have changed a lot in the fishing world since I was a youngster. But the way I see it if I use the tackle I'm used to and love..... what's changed. The only thing might be that now I'm older I reckon I will enjoy the tranquility and the lovely surroundings more than I ever did.
What is it they say " Youth !... wasted on the young".
Thanks guys for an amazing forum.. and thanks to mark for the invite.
Here's to some great natter n banter. Paul.

Hi Paul,
Welcome to the forum. Lived a few miles outside Canterbury for a while but never fished in the area. Is that tackle shop still going in Canterbury at the top end of town?
