Certainly looks like an early James and William period Aspindale, Mal. I wonder in what way it varies from an 891?

It appears it will have been made between 1946 and 1949, when the brothers parted, and Peter and his father James started the Dalesman brand as Aspindale and Son.

The above letter is from the now mostly retired Peter Aspindale and was sent to Barry Arbury who put it up on a recent auction on eBay. Wish he'd put the other side up too......

Just found on th'ebay "The Tournament" No 846 - a 12ft fly(?) rod! Aspindales Manor Works Redditch.
