I borrow les's old brolly that he used to make in the eighties... It's bloody good.

Just the old green fishing brolly but I rarely use it.

I rarely use mine, I find it more of a hindrance especially because I never normally stay in the same swim for too long.

Re: Shelters?
I have three shelter options for overnighters. Simplest and most often used is just an old Efgeeco 45" cotton-covered brolly, which is just enough to cover my gear and the top half of a bedchair. A waterproof, breathable fleece cover protects the lower end from all but the worst rain, in which case I add a groundsheet.
For winter nights I have a canvas brollycamp that fits over the brolly, though it helps enormously if you remove your legs first as the headroom is about three foot six. It look ridiculous, but it's nice and warm. Finally, for longer trips or when serious rain is forecast I confess to resorting to a Trakker A-Lite, though it's a relatively simple and small affair by some standards. One of the syndicate members at my lake has a bivvy so vast he can only fish from three swims, and it now has its own postcode.

Re: Shelters?
I have never been night fishing, it has never appealed to me, anyway I was always told that nights are for owls, prostitutes and burglars. :hahaha:
