How was the first time for you? Did you fear for the rod or did you grit your teeth and enjoy the ride?

It was a giggle, the rod (1&3/4 TC) was under no threat at all, the spinning landing net head and tele handle on the other hand..........

Went back today and had another barnstormer:

Lost another one that tore off in a completely different diraction to the other two at a rate of knots but lost both hook and tell tale shot due to a bite off (I think). Never mind. These little devils don't 'arf tug, this one above bent the bean stick to its test curve but having ensured the landing net was screwed tight went in no problems.
