S.E Cooke Duracast
I have just recieved a Duracast from S E Cooke 3" diameter, utterly lightweight..superb little reels that weigh nothing..great for close-in fishing on light rods (quote Nobby )
Interestingly it comes with a two way check so it can be used left or right handed at the flick of a switch.
Cleaned up lovely and now spins quite freely.
The paint is pretty poor and what is left is quite loose so I think I will give it a "full metal jacket" polish which should look quite nice!

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Paint off and a light polish.
Need to decide now how polished is too polished?

if you over polish it ,it'll need constantly repolishing or it'll tarnish ,plus theres the problem of glinting in the sunlight .the surface will determine how far you can go.

Cheers Steve, I think I'll leave it as it is. A little bit of tarnish probably wouldn't be a bad thing overall.

Snap! ( ish)
This one is a true pin, but still doesn't really spin much...I think it's too light.

You don't hang around, do you?
I looked at the first post and thought "hmm, needs a clean up", then lo and behold, three hours later it reappears all cleaned up!
A nice looking reel

Weighs about the same as a hummingbirds guff!
Surprisingly, it spins quite freely, not the minutes that some can claim but I'm sure I could trot with it. The retrieve? Not quite so good.
