Thanks for the quotes Fennel.

Happy Birthday Richard Walker. :Hat:

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

I am currently re-reading one of his books and whilst I have re-read No Need to Lie in the first week of June for the last 40+ years and know virtually every word by heart his writings still inspire me. Like so many I owe Richard Walker a great deal in terms of my enjoyment of this sport. I shall give the Mkiv a run out next week.

As a self-taught young angler, Walker's teachings made me aware that big fish could be caught by design, rather than relying on Lady Luck.

For that alone, I owe him a great debt of gratitude - cheers, Dick, and thanks for all the fish :Hat:
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed
