Having only caught 4 chub ever, I'm afraid this is going to be far from educational.
I'm a new chub addict
I went with a friend lastnight for a few hours, he taught me a huge amount. And helped catch a few fish.

One of the best fish there is, will feed in any weather. I love em too.
I've now been fishing for them for over 30 years.

You'll find they're fairly easy this time of year; out of condition like the one you caught, hungry and not much fight. In a couple of month they'll be craftier, have filled out again and fight a lot harder. Have fun!
