Had a book given to me the other day and wondered if anyone had heard of it. It's called Trout Magic by Robert Traver, I believe it's a first edition, printed 1974 by Crown Publishers Inc, New York. Just wondered what it was worth.

Robert Traver, or his real name, John Voelker. Not worth a great deal financially but it's one of the better books and well worth a read.

Abebooks have copies for sale through various suppliers around £ 70 maximum for a first class hardback to £0.94 for a paperback.

I recently bought the paperback - about £6.

When you have exhausted Geirach give him a try.

The “wit, wisdom and anecdotes” of a writer who fishes the fly.
