Maybe we can arrange a trip soon then bit of a trek for me but that's ok

I caught a baby trout on a lobworm there once, never a carp although I did see a guy with a venerable beanpole who'd claimed he'd had one on a crust and netted one for another guy on something very curry scented.
Long time ago, I must go back one day.

Fished this on Sunday. There were two anglers there. Lovely, calming, atmospheric water. I caught some good roach and a few trout up to a pound. Didn't see/hear any carp. It's a lot smaller than I expected, the whole venue only a football pitch or so big. But the creepy, dense, beautiful woods and the relative quiet give it its magic. The drive from London was worth it. On fishing it at night (I left at dusk): There was one angler left. I said to him "good luck" and I swear to God he had a look of fear in his eyes...at being the last left down there in the creepy, woody hollow, long after the dog walkers and i had gone home, no doubt!

I shall be there in 2015 if anyone wants to have a session or two there - delightful atmosphere ! Eeeeek !

Even better - four of us and I believe you are absolutely right that no overnight fishing is permitted but that might be to prevent harm to anglers .......our long vigil had begun..
