Hi Guys can I ask for a bit of advice please? I am going to try and make a walker style net with approx 30” arms but as I have never seen on in the flesh I am struggling to picture the spreader block set up . Would one of you kind gents be good enough to post a description of one or maybe a picture? Also does anybody know where I can obtain a set of split cane arms as the bay of E is getting very expensive for old damaged rods! I am even struggling to pick up an old rod to make the handle with!
Many thanks in advance.

Try page 4 of this thread

Not having access to the machinery required, I improvised
I started off with the rod handle (see the top thread) I gave this up as it didn't have the strength when extended to the 5' I wanted. I ended up with a piece of whole cane.
The arms of my net are planed from hardwood dowel rather than cane. I'm not sure what dimensions you would require to get a good taper on your net arms with them still having strength. My guess would be the base of two middle sections of a 12' rod.

Might be worth contacting David Austin who makes some wonderful split cane landing nets and I am sure would be able to make you some arms at a reasonable cost.
