Efgeeco Telescopic Rod Rests

Post by TemeLAD »

Dear esteemed piscators:

I have recently acquired front and back Efgeeco rod rests replete with original rubber heads. One of the telescopic rests is standard in appearance, the other has a 2" length of outer rod rest sheath welded/soldered at right angles to the main shaft (about a third of the way down), it has the same brass fitting with a small screw thread to take the locking key and all looks original.

Can anyone shed any light on what this part of the rest was used for?

Respectfully yours :Hat:

A picture would help, as I`ve an Efgeeco catalogue with illustrations and there doesn't appear to be any rod rest, amongst the eight designs, that matches your description?....

Just bumping this back on to the front page in the hope that Robbi or Merlot may be able to help with the addition of a couple of photos.

I thank you kindly :Hat:

Talking to other Efgeeco aficionados, checking all our Efgeeco catalogues and taking into account the obvious weld, it would appear to be an after market adjustment. We have not found anything similar in any of the catalogues, literature or remember anything similar from memory or use. It could be some kind of adjustable hanging point for a bucket or a secondary adjustable support point.
