Oliver's of Knebworth
Could not find anything to put Oliver's of Knebworth under hence other rods but in my Bumble opinion some of the best cane ever produced
Was very lucky to pick this up just before Christmas Oliver's of Knebworth traditional Avon stunning dark cane with a fabulous action and so much better than my Kennet perfection by the same builder not that this a bad rod just the opposite.
This would easily make my top 3

Looks stunning Bumble, well done Sir!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

That looks beautiful, Sir.

I was having a rummage through various boxes unopened since I moved house and discovered I have an Oliver's of Knebworth catalogue from the mid 1960s which I must have sent off for as a lad. If anyone is interested I will photograph the pages and put them up on here.
You will certainly like the prices if nothing else.

YES PLEASE! Sorry to shout, it was the level of excitement at the prospect of seeing the Oliver's catalogue. Their rods tend to stay in collections and don't come up for sale very often. When they do they rightly fetch handsome prices. Olivers often did some really wonderful combinations of silk colours, green and gold etc

Re: Oliver's of Knebworth
I shall dig it out tonight and bring it to the Office for photographing. I only looked at it briefly the other night but it seems to be several pages of lists for different rods and prices - I don't recall any photos of the rods otherwise I might have suffered a severe case of excessive drooling. It was bad enough just looking through the pages quite quickly.Beresford wrote:PershoreHarrier
