I have indeed enjoyed some great stories from Chris while being at the Redditch tackle show, his enthusiasm for angling and anglers is incredible, to scroll through some of his photographs too adds to his stories, back in 2011 I spoke with him at his table, his walker half bail Mitchell was led on the table along with his wedding cake casting reel, at the time I was having plexiglass stands made to fit most Mitchells so donated a couple to Chris to display his reels on, hoping your there this year Chris for some more tales.

Used to pop in to a tackle shop where I was the manager -- an exceedingly knowledgeable & convivial gentleman!

After more than 25 years I met Chris Ball again this year at the Redditch Vintage Tackle Show and we had a very nice and interesting talk as he could remember very well the Carp Show at Watersportcentrale Genk in Belgium where I saw him first time.

This talk also made my day, Chris, not only yours as you told me on that sunny sunday at Redditch!
