Welcome big tel I'm no expert on chub or rivers I've only managed a couple of chub this season and that was more down to luck. Lob worms are a preferred choice I'm sure someone will be along soon to give more of an expert advice

A hearty welcome from another stick user, Sir.

Never overlook slugs as a bait ... they move slowly enough that you and I can catch 'em !!!

Hi Big Tel
Welcome aboard :hat:
I love a bit of chubbing and am a big fan of freelining and simple methods. I mostly fish freelined or lightly weighted worms and slugs or luncheon meat usually with a few swan shot.
