Traditional F E Thomas Combo Rod

Post by 2wood »

I recently posted information on a F E Thomas rod on the Classic Fly Rod Forum - http://classicflyrodforum.com/forum/vie ... p?t=151253.
It turns out that the rod belongs here. Thomas made it about 100 years ago for presentation to a real hero who rescued a drowning man at the peril of his life. It's five pieces that can be put together either as a three-piece "Trolling or Bait" rod or a two-piece "Bait Casting" rod. Please take a look at rods you probably have not seen before.

Congratulations on acquiring a nice rod and an interesting historical artefact.
