B James MK1V Carp rod with a loose fitting ferrule

Hi all. I decided to look into the knocking problem I had with the BJ MK1V Carp rod and found that after taking the rod apart I held the female ferrule and pressed it gently back and forth. With the ferrule held close to my ear, I could just hear the knocking noise. I then did as Fredline originally suggested and carefully wiggled the ferrule until I managed to remove it. I then reset it and cleaned both male and female ferrule and now the rod is perfect. Thanks to all for the help you gave me, especially Fredline and Santiago. It's great that on this forum you can get good information without as I received on another forum I use, where I was told to just grow beans up it and get a decent rod
