First time on the Trent

First time having a go on the Trent since the move down to Nottinghamshire.

Don't really have a clue, or any confidence but having a go anyway.

Two hours in an two clicks from the reel is all if had. Probably weed on the line.

Not much of a flow.

Got a feeder on each rod. Groundbait with sweetcorn and spam. Big piece of spam as bait.

Fingers crossed.

Beware of people on the bank asking to check your fishing licence, it’s your passport they want to check to make sure you’re not from outside the midlands.

Used to love fishing the Trent although my last trip with a certain Mr Brooks ending in a definite water licking by said river.

What do you mean about my bank sticks?

Do you mean you're not supposed to jam them up between two large rocks?

Or are my rods not vertical enough for river fishing.

Could only get half way with the fixed spools.

The bailiff came along and told me I was in one of the best swims. Still blanked though.

Not really confident with what I was doing. But hoping to find a stretch that's better suited to trotting.

Also been offered a trip with a member on here, and hoping to copy him!

Long hooklinks are often necessary to fool wary barbel Jack, but there are enough of them in there for one to make a mistake. You'll crack it in no time.
