Good afternoon from a sunny Devizes. I have bought a Chapmans Hunter rod with what was described as a "shortened tip". I presumed I would need to find a new top section to make it good. Got the rod home and gave it a good check over. I reckon the tip is genuine and not short and was built like it. The label says "Hunter N.L" I presume that is New Look. I can't find any reference to them. Any information etc would be much appreciated. Regards all Ed.

Just checked and it is short by about4 inches, shame.

John Chapman may have one, it's worth asking, he came up with a new tip section for my Amwell.

I got a Hunter back in 2018. This is the post it was discussed in. If you go down the first page, to LJM183s comment, Lee helpfully added a shot of a Chapman’s catalogue and an explanation of the difference between mine, the SP and your NL.

I’ve learnt since then that it’s a rod to use with a rod rest! With the hollow built handle and middle section but solid built top, it’s very tip heavy to hold for a long time, even when paired with one of my heavier Grice & Young ‘pins, a Twynham or an Avon Royal Supreme. However, if you need a longer rod capable of dealing with Tench and smaller Carp, it is very capable.
