Watched a good fishing film lately, why not talk about it in here.

Just watched. Interesting. I've noticed the same. You'll see my comment. I haven't caught a single gudgeon in years. Even on stretches where I used to bag up on them. The same goes for ruffe. I haven't caught one of those in more than 30 years.

We still see a few gudgeon on the upper Medway and its tributary the Kentish Eden Mark although I’m sure the numbers have declined somewhat sadly….

As Aitch inferred we have good population of big Gudgeon residing in the Wally, not unusual to catch quite a few in a session with the average size being around 5 inches, my fellow Wally inhabitant and pie chomping chump Moley can attest

going with the flow - You gotta luv them gonks

They've declined on the Thames but I still catch a few . I suspect that crayfish are eating their eggs.

We have quite a lot of gudgeon waters near by. I may give one or two a try this season.

The pie chomping chump concurs with young Wallyboy.....they are all in the Wallington with some caught at the eight inch mark.

But other rivers do seem to be short of the little blighters. Maybe there is something about their eating qualities that has caught on ......Whitebait seems popular......hum

Get on the Wally Gonk Fest if you want to catch a few.
