Books and more books….

Post by Dave F »

The TFF has woken up my interest in reading and in particular, “Come Fishing With Me” by Colin D. Willcock; “Lifelines” by Nathan Walter & Rod Sturdy and “Reel Time” and “The River Prince” by Chris Yates.
The books that I have read, I have thoroughly enjoyed.
“Come Fishing With Me” is a first edition (1952) and is only a few years younger than me! and dedicated “to Robert with love from aunty Win. Jan 28th 1956.” I wonder if Robert is still fishing?
“Lifelines” dedicated to Andy and signed by Rod Sturdy, A.R. Salter (?) and N.Walter - I wonder where Andy is!
“The River Prince” 1998 and numbered 41 of 888 was bought for a staggering £60.00 a few months ago. The title and Christopher Yates is finished in gold leaf, the barbel is outlined in black. The only other copy of this book that I have seen has the title and barbel in gold leaf and C Y name outlined in black! Incidentally, the cost of this other book is/was £159.00!
“Reel Time” and a book just delivered - “Pike and the Pike Angler” by Fred Buller are still to be read.
Oh to be at my “Happy Place” where nothing matters but the being there.
