Couldn’t resist these, three complete packets of hooks, in pristine condition, by Jack Clayton of Boston, Lincolnshire.
Two packs are “yard bottoms” (I.e. 36” long) and one pack is “short draws” (i.e. 12” long) - that’s what we called them in Sheffield anyway!
The swingtip was my go-to method on the Witham, Welland, Middle Level etc. and I learned quickly that the previously more popular method of float fishing had a rival when bream fishing. It seems to have died back these days, but in the 60s and 70s, it was the king in the Fens

Those packs are nice, walkerburt.
I still use a swingtip when appropriate.
They may not be fashionable but they can most definitely be effective and enjoyable to use.

Thanks Wanderer
I haven’t coarse fished for over twenty five years now, but one thing has remained clear in my memory….
The slow drop back on a swingtip is the best indication…

Claytons of Boston also made some first class reed/cane/split cane rods.
