Pricked Fingers and Distractions.

Apologies for my absence these last few weeks, a family issue has rather taken over.
During this time I thought it would be a good idea to occupy my mind by learning something new, something to challenge me and something I had never done before, but what?
A couple or three months ago I was gifted a very nice Aerial reel, a splendid gesture from a true gentleman. It is something I shall treasure and something that deserves to be looked after, so after watching an episode of Suzie doing her finest work on 'The Repair Shop' I had the notion to teach myself a bit of leatherworking and maybe make a pokey bag for the Aerial.
After watching a few videos, getting a few bits and bobs together and learning how to saddle stich with two needles on various bits of scrap leather I decided that a D block case would be far nicer for the reel. Now I had to learn how to box stich as well!
Many pricked fingers and blood letting later this is the result.
I feel that the reel is now suitably protected and another case is being planned.
