As the chub picture seemed to go down well it would be nice to show the 2lb plus roach caught on the same day........

Big roach always excite anglers as they are so contrasting to the usual roach we catch, they are almost a different species

That is a lovely Roach Moley, it is only when you actually get one on the bank that you realise just how big a 2lb Roach is! :Hat:

Fatty went to Abshot pond again today. Whilst realising that this is not traditional etc it is legal and club approved. At the age this Mole is fishing is more important than self imposed not fishing.....time is short and getting shorter to get some more fishing in.

So that's the excuses over and just feast your old mince pies on this lot:

The old Evans pole was creaking under the Rudd onslaught.

Then just before packing to get back and walk the dogs this roach wanted to see Fatty:

One pound twelve ounces of roachiness and not expected from such a tiny pond but there you go. The old Evans pole was brilliant and almost seemed happy to be doing what it was made for.

A 6lb chub and a 2lb roach on the same day is just plain greedy, hang your head Squire Moley :Chuckle:

You do have a knack of attracting big fish Moley, it must be the smell of pies on your fingers that taints the bait. Long may it continue. And, as for fishing between March and June, carry on, it's a great time of year to be out and the fishing is great. :Thumb:

Last week the tench were bubbling around the float but none took the bait.

This week not a tench in sight. There were a few swirls from bigger fish but nowt of a green nature decided to visit. Still well made up with the roach.

Let us know when you are going young Rob.

Don't use a family heirloom for a float though as another loss would be too much for you. Hopefully you have got the other lost heirloom back from the Wally by now?
