A History of Fish and Fisheries of the River Thames by David Solomon

Post by DaceAce »

I've long been a fan of the river Thames and have collected many books about it, Oxford and Oxfordshire but it was only a chance remark from John Essex that put me onto this very special book that was published last year. It's well-researched and written, and crammed full of facts and figures. Fishing on the Thames is a vast subject but this book makes a very good stab at covering it and I thoroughly recommend it.

Thanks for sharing. The link appears to be correct but strangely won’t open for me. On the off chance, here it is again:

The angling exploits involving old father Thames ingrains it firmly into our angling history. Its a river that had a particular spell on me for many years. I'll definitely take a look at this book thanks DaceAce :Hat:

Thanks for sharing that, looks a great book.

Definitely fancy that one.

Thank you.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
