New member from Wokingham
Evening all,
I have not been fishing for about 5 years now due to work, kids and family issues and all that life wants to throw at you when you get into your 40s and 50s. I am desperate to get back to nature and doing what I absolutely love. I don't even bother trying to explain the absolute joy I get from fishing as most people just laugh as say it's boring. Social media, phones and all that stuff to me are boring.
Anyway I'll get to the point. I used to fish the Wasing Estate and stretches of the Loddon. I was never that successful but it never put me off.
I have recently been for walks at Wasing and along the Lodden. What struck me was that there was basically no one there and the stretches seemed very much un-loved. I have heard that these waters have struggled over the last few years and am trying to ascertain why and whether it is worth trying them again or going somewhere new.
I would be very grateful if any of you could share your thoughts and suggestions as to where might be a good place to start in Berkshire and the surrounding areas.
Don't really mind what I catch but prefer river fishing in quiet spots and roving
Many thanks
Daniel
