Help with reel identification

Post by Mark »

Can anyone help me identify the reel that Chris Yates is using in this video (wind it forward to 3 minutes to see the reel). It looks like a wide drum reel.

I'm sure this was called the dragonfly reel from my very hazy memory it was a carter, I saw one on eBay a while back for a hum dinging amount of money, it didn't sell.
Also think this was one of the first reels that Chris had a hand in designing, I remember this because iwas waiting for it to come out and I always assumed it would have spokes.

Can't find one on google but I'm sure it was a dragonfly, (wasn't the conquest narrow only.?)

Mark I'm away from home, so Can't get at my reel pix, if I have any info on this I shall get it to you when I get back to staffs, I've only ever seen one on eBay, it was described as, the chris Yates reel, but it didn't sell, because the price was silly money, also I may have some info in an old magazine, anyway, shall investigate when I'm back. I still standby my first call though. I bet there's someone on here who knows.
