Interesting. I've used a mini link-swivel with silicon float stops for a decade at least. You can't buy silicone stops I don't think, I make my own using silicone 'rod' and a needle - they are kinder on the line - you still need to wet the line before moving the stops though, to avoid hot spots. I'm not a match angler of course, but I love the sheer convenience of being able to change floats in a trice or swap between surface fishing and bottom fishing at moments noticed.
