A rod recently acquired looks to be a Martin James Victor according to a catalogue posted by PondLife in a previous thread. The rod is described as having an agate Hopton end ring, does anyone know what this is or better still provide a photo please?
The tip ring on my rod looks to be a replacement and it would be interesting to know what the original tip ring was like.
Thanks in anticipation

Re: Agate Hopton end ring
I have always thought that the word Hopton refferred to an agate tip ring as you describe Jeremy, they seem to on the guides and blanks website ..

One of these; it has no tube, just two arms to whip on.
